GCSE/IGCSE

Year 10 ~ 11 (만 14 ~ 15세) 에 해당되는 2년의 중등 과정 / The General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)

The normal minimum requirement for entry to the Sixth Form is Six GCSE/IGCSE passes at grade B (= grade 6) or above

Compulsory Subjects

• English (leading to 2 GCSEs called English and English Literature)
• Mathematics
• Physics, Chemistry & Biology (some pupils will eventually take Separate Sciences and others Double Award Science)

Four Option Subjects

• First modern foreign language choice (French or German or Spanish or Mandarin)
• And Three option subjects

The NEW 9-1 numerical grading system (2017)

- Grade 9 is the highest grade, and is higher than the current A*.  It will only be awarded to the top 20% of pupils who achieve a Grade 7 or more across the country.
- Grade 8 is the equivalent of the A*/A boundary.
- Grade 7 is the bottom of an A grade.
- Grade 6 is the top 60% of a B grade.
- Grade 5 is the top 30% of a C grade and the bottom 30% of a B grade.
- Grade 4 is equivalent to the bottom of the old C grade.
